This inspirational film on the resistance to Fracking will be in Preston on 28th May. Gas is absolutely necessary to the Nuclear industry. It is maybe not a coincidence that while all eyes are directed to fracking the nuclear industry is benefitting from the lack of attention and continues to pollute the river Ribble in Preston and much more besides. #RESISTANCE
I just saw the amazing film documentary The Bentley Effect in Pullborough Village Hall (literally an hour ago).
The Bentley Effect for those who don’t know is a film about those communities that rose up and stood for the land in the face of police protected unconventional gas extraction (AKA fracking) companies in Australia.
About the Documentary
When the coal seam gas industry staked a claim on the Northern Rivers shire of Australia, alarm bells rang out. A critical mass of people from all walks of life – farmers, landowners, mums, dads, activists, scientists – organised themselves to rally against the unconventional gas invasion.
