Rusland Pool – the iron bridge- used to walk over this to and from the school bus.
This is the river through the Rusland valley that flows out to Morecambe Bay which is: ” a sink for particle associated contaminants” from continuing Sellafield discharges. These discharges are now a nuclear dump in the silts of the sea bed. This includes “caesium 137, americium 241 and plutonium isotopes in the Solway Firth and Morecambe Bay.” published in British Geological Society journal Earthwise 20014
