Complaint on Moorside Advertorial sent to the Advertising Standards Authority
Radiation Free Lakeland have sent a complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority regarding the lie that Moorside would provide “7% of the UKs energy”
“NuGen’s Moorside Project aims to provide approximately 7% of the UK’s
current energy requirement…”
The fantastic claim in the advertorial in every Cumbrian newspaper that Moorside would provide 7% of the UKs energy is a blatent lie which can easily be disproved: 7% of the UKs energy sounds like magic– but the truth is that if the proposed plant produced 7% of the UKs electricity that would be pushing it.
It is also a lie to say nuclear is low carbon, it is in energy deficit if the whole chain is accounted for from uranium mining to accidents and attempts at waste containment..
On the areas on the map for consultation – it is clear that Scotland is nearer than some of the Consultees in Cumbria….but they have been excluded from the consultation along with Ireland, and Norway.
Will Cumbrians show solidarity with Scotland, Ireland, Norway and other areas that would be equally and disastrously impacted on?
Will we show some noise and BOYCOTT the Moorside CONsultation? This CONsultation does not allow for a NO – which is the only sane option for Moorside: “Chernobyl on Steroids” Chernobyl is an ongoing nuclear disaster – How many more?
