CoRWM public meeting tomorrow at Hunday Manor, as at 13:20 29th April you can still register.

good analysis here from Cumbria Trust who are acknowledging the link between the governments nuclear new build agenda and geological  dumping ..DEMO tomorrow at 5 till 6  pm

Cumbria Trust

Just in case you need reminding:

  • The Consultation was largely a cosmetic exercise. The Minister Michael Fallon, misinformed the House of Lords committee regarding end dates and predetermined the outcome regarding the county councils.
  • 59% of the respondents urged a search of England for the optimum geological site. No one in government, including the BGS has refuted the claims that the geology of Cumbria is simply unsuitable.
  • Only 3 of the 700 plus respondents (including Copeland) recommended cutting out the county councils
  • The bizarre situation of a small district such as Copeland being equal in weight to a massive unitary authority such as Cornwall, yet , the county council is NOT involved!
  • Three green lights to go ahead. They got two green and one red. The process (therefore) stopped.  So they changed the rules by cutting out the red light, the county council, effectively disenfranchising most of Cumbria. This is…

Nuclear Criminal Monbiot thinks he is worth more than £100 bounty – Really?

Fraud Handcuff
Fraud Handcuff

Received an email today from George Monbiot “claiming” £100 for “arresting himself.”

He seems to think that he is worth more than £100 bounty on his head (as he puts it)  – unfortunately not.

The “bounty” (his word)  is to be released to Radiation Monitoring in Cumbria.

Also today received very abusive emails from Monbiot supporters – but many more from ordinary people thanking us for taking the action of highlighting Monbiot’s criminal advocacy of nuclear power.

Here is the correspondence between myself and Monbiot

Dear George,

Have you presented yourself to a police station to ask them to carry out
an arrest for Nuclear Crimes against Humanity and the Environment yet?

The terms of the website clearly state that the arrestor will receive a
certificate, while the £100 will be presented to RADMIC – a voluntary
group aiming to set up independent monitoring in Cumbria. Just one
example why local people want to take this action is because monitoring
and retrieval of radioactive particles on Cumbrian beaches has been scaled
back despite more radioactive particles, including alpha emitting, being
found. This is most likely as a result of accelerated reprocessing
activity  (for your much vaunted voodoo fast breeders).
If you send an address a certificate will wing its way to you.
Yours sincerely,

Marianne Birkby
on behalf of
Arrest Monbiot

This Wednesday DEMO 5.00 to 6.00pm outside Nuke Dump meeting

Nuclear Waste Here?
Nuclear Waste Here?

Please join us on 30th April in demonstrating to Government that Cumbria (or anywhere else!) should NOT be in the frame for the dumping of high level nuclear wastes underground.

The demonstration will start at 5pm prior to the Committee on Radioactive Waste Management meeting in the Hunday Manor Hotel.  Please join us in showing Grrrr.  We will be at the end of the access road to the Hotel alongside the A595 on public land.

To attend the meeting and ask questions -book here – or just turn up!  We are all paying for being brainwashed with “learning and focussing”  so don’t be shy

Monbiot,-George-puppetArrest Monbiot website launched on the eve of Chernobyl’s 28th anniversary  By mariannewildart on April 25, 2014

A website has been set up on the eve of the 28th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster. http://wildar4.wix.com/arrest-monbiot

The website calls for the Arrest of the Guardian newspaper’s columnist and  “leading environmentalist”  George Monbiot.

Monbiot has been a key player in persuading government ministers, many environmentalists and those who have been groomed to trust his judgement, that new nuclear is to be  embraced and “loved” as a solution to climate change.   Far from being a “solution” nuclear contributes to climate change with thermal heating of the oceans, profligate use of fossil fuel and fresh water – and diversion of resources from renewables.  Even if it were a “solution” it would be the final solution making large tracts of land uninhabitable, farmland unusable, the bounty of the sea uneatable,  and the air  unbreathable………….

The website says:

A reward is offered to people attempting a citizen’s arrest of George Monbiot for crimes against humanity and the environment.

Monbiot must face justice for his criminal irresponsibility in promoting nuclear power.

This site offers a *reward to people attempting a peaceful citizen’s arrest of the self professed “professional trouble-maker” George Monbiot for Nuclear Crimes against Humanity and the Environment.

Anyone attempting an arrest, which meets the rules laid down here, will be presented with a certificate honouring their actions.

Any money donated to this site will be used for no other purpose than to donate to Radiation Monitoring in Cumbria (RADMIC) an independent, community initiative to monitor and assess the effect of the nuclear industry. There is no independent monitoring in the North West following the disbanding of Lancashire County Council’s – Radiation Monitoring in Lancashire.

The aim of this website is to encourage repeated attempts to arrest George Monbiot:

  • To remind people that nuclear power is the most vicious and extreme way of boiling a kettle.
  • To put pressure on the UK government to rethink its disastrous nuclear agenda
  • To discourage others from repeating this crime of promoting nuclear as a benign “solution”

Springwatch Sellafield Style

Sellafield Springwatch 23 April 2014
Sellafield Springwatch
23 April 2014

Yesterday Springwatch Sellafield style –

We stood outside Sellafield for the 5th time in a demonstration of opposition to Sellafield’s continuing policy of  experimentation on wildlife (and on us).  We know trees have been planted to entice wildlife into the area previously unfenced and now surrounded by military fences.  The area is we believe a “wildlife monitoring scheme” as recommended by the Institute of Terrestrial Ecology  in 1988 and The Deer Intiative in 2012 to record the bioaccumulation of radionuclides in wildlife.  The bioaccumulation of radionuclides does not magically stop at the meaningless fences.

We saw evidence of roe deer and badger just outside the fences by the New Mill beck on our way to Grey Croft Stone circle.

A heron flew accross the site towards the cooling ponds. The fences are meaningless especially while Sellafield continues to reprocess and “decommission” ie fling the waste out to landfill, air and sea. The police were many.

Human Plutonium Experiments….. Included body snatching here in Cumbria….

Mining Awareness +

The human plutonium experiments are included in some of the entries for the 1943-49 research experiments listed below. We introduced the Human Plutonium Experiments at the bottom of this interim post: http://miningawareness.wordpress.com/2014/04/15/from-the-nuclear-buchenwald-touch-hamiltons-words-in-1950-to-nuclear-extermination/

A pro-nuclear individual-troll implied that we were exaggerating, when we said that those promoting nuclear appear to want to be as gods. However, actually, our statement has its roots in a comment made, decades ago, by an Oak Ridge Biochemist-Ph.D., who once observed that doctors were like gods, with the power of life and death over people. As this comment was made before the first US Congressional Report on the “American Nuclear Guinea Pigs“, 1986, it seemed rather odd. In fact, peculiar enough to recall, in detail, decades later.

Aren’t doctors supposed to heal people and not wield the power of life and death over them? Not in Oak Ridge, and other places, where there…

Truth is too Hot – Sellafield keep schtum (or misinform) to keep the whole shebang going

HOT -"Wildlife Monitoring Scheme"
HOT -“Wildlife Monitoring Scheme”

Despite Sellafield’s PR  spin saying that deer had been “accidentally” trapped,  evidence points to the trapping of wildlife within the Sellafield site as deliberate.

Why else build an L shaped bank around the site , plant native trees, make it attractive for wildlife…and then fence it in…thereby increasing the footprint of the site?

In 1988 a report produced for government by the then Institute of Terrestrial Ecology advises “the establishment of wildlife monitoring schemes…to provide an early warning of radionuclide accumulation”

So Sellafield built a bank and planted it with trees: “a roughly L- shaped parcel of land” At the widest point the piece of land is no more than 0.3km wide and in total the enclosed area represents approximately 15 hectares.

Then they fenced it in trapping deer (and other wildlife) which are- as the recent redacted_Deer Report-Sellafield  obtained under Freedom of Information, helpfully says :

“excellent bio-indicators and sentinels of environmental contamination.
Because of their extremely rapid and efficient deposition of minerals in
bone, they are recognised as important sources of data in respect of heavy
metal and radioactive isotope accumulation. Given the nature of the
industrial work at Sellafield, the regular sampling of deer bone and liver
tissue might be an attractive prospect for those responsible for
environmental monitoring at the site.”

Radiation Free Lakeland have asked further questions of the site operators, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, under Freedom of Information

1. What was harvested tissue from the culled deer tested for?

2. What are the results of tests on the culled deer?

3. Was the advice of the 1988 Institute of Terrestrial Ecology report acted on in
setting up a “wildlife monitoring scheme” at Sellafield? Namely the L shaped high
bund planted up with trees on the Calder Gate side of the Sellafield site adjacent
to the golf course?
http://jncc.defra.gov.uk/pdf/Pub90_Radioactivity_and_wildlife_web.pdf

There will be a demonstration on Wednesday at 1pm outside the Calder Gate to protest the continuing experimentation on our wildlife (and on us) while the industry continues to disperse radioactivity to the environment.

Instead of containment of radionuclides there is  now an acceleration of radionuclide releases from decommissioning, reprocessing and planned new build…

Tokyo Shimbun and the flycatcher contaminated with hot particles

In Japan a beautiful unobtrusive bird, the flycatcher, is reported to be hot with radioactive particles. Easter gift from nukiller..

nuclear-news

20 April 2014

Today’s Tokyo Shimbun evening paper has picked up on this bird from a barn in Iitate which is in Fukushima Prefecture, This local bird, the flycatcher is from the  ficedula family and seems to be systemically exposed with hot particles.

The black spots are radioactive substances, we can guess where the radiation in the body is from. It is from eating insects and plants containing radioactive material and also you can see part of the abdomen is uniformly black.
